Five FINA Masters World Records Bettered at SPMA Santa Clarita SCM Meet

SANTA CLARITA, California, November 14. LAST weekend, five FINA Masters world record were bettered during the SPMA SCM meet.

Rita Simonton, 90, bested a pair of her global standards in the 90-94 age division with times of 4:24.90 in the 200 free and 9:01.89 in the 400 free.

Derya Buyukunca, 31, dipped under Martin Zubero's 30-34 mark of 55.19 in the 100 back with a time of 53.63, while Jenny Cook, 50, posted a time of 1:20.72 in the 50-54 100 breaststroke for another record.

Robert Strand, 62, cleared his 60-64 record of 1:08.70 in the 100 IM with a time of 1:08.05.
