Five-Star Breanna Folk Commits

MOHRSVILLE, Pennsylvania, November 10. SWIMMING World five-star recruit Breanna Folk has made her college choice public.

Folk made Tennessee head coach Matt Kredich's day when she committed to become a Lady Volunteer.

Folk, who owns U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in the 100-meter breast (1:11.13), 200-meter breast (2:34.22), 200-meter IM (2:17.28) and 400-meter IM (4:54.37), swims for Parkland Aquatic Club and preps at Schuylkill Valley High.

"I chose Tennessee not only for the swimming but also for the academics," Folk told Swimming World. "The college seems so set on making young women into successful women. To add to that, the college also wants to make student-athletes as successful as they can be. The coaches, Matt and Jen [Arndt], also want to help with this success not only in the pool but in the classroom.

"On the swimming side, Matt and Jen are wonderful coaches and I cannot wait to be under their coaching staff," Folk continued. "The team is such a great team, and my trip there made me feel at home. I enjoy feeling like I am part of a family-oriented team, and Tennessee Lady Vols swimming is not just a team, they are a family helping each other to strive for something bigger and better! To sum up, the academics are great, the amount of resources is amazing, the coaching staff is really wonderful, and the girls team is great! I feel it will be the best home for me for the next four years."

Folk joined four-star Sloan Pitman as future Lady Vols in the Class of 2009.
