NCAA Div. I Women: USC Scrapes By ASU

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11. THE University of Southern California barely edged a scrappy Arizona State University team, 153-147, in women's Pac-10 dual meet competition.

Only one swimmer managed to win two individual events, and she had to share one of those victories. USC's Katie Meyer tied ASU's Miranda Shald in the 100 back at 57.14, then went on to win the 200 in 2:01.05.

In the meet's most exciting event, the Trojans' Michala Kwasny just out-lasted the Sun Devils' Sarah Baham to win the 200 fly in 1:58.53 to Baham's 1:58.80. Baham returned the favor in the 100 fly, winning in 54.70 to Kwasny's 56.00.

USC's Kristen MacGregor took the 100 breast in 1:03.35.
