Five-Star Nick Trowbridge Makes Commitment Call

LOS ALTOS, California, November 6. SWIMMING World five-star prospect Nick Trowbridge is remaining in his home state for college.

Trowbridge, who swims for Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and preps at Mountain View High, will be heading to the University of California for his college years. Trowbridge owns U.S. Olympics Trials cuts in the 100-meter back (57.65) and 200-meter back (2:04.20).

"I made my decision for several reasons," Trowbridge told Swimming World. "The environment is awesome; Dave [Durden] is going to be a coaching legend; and the team is a great group of guys. After making my trips and visiting schools, I found Cal's athletic and academic combination to be a perfect fit for me. I am really excited about what Cal can do over the next couple years and I want to be a part of it."

Trowbridge joins what is becoming a deep class as five-star recruits Austin Brown and Tom Shields have already committed to the men's team at Cal.
