Hope Men and Women Sweep Albion -- November 11, 2000

November 11. THE Flying Dutchmen of Hope College gained a 96-79 victory over Albion College in MIAA action today as the Hope women bested Albion, 123-109.

In the men's meet, freshman B.J. Schoette marked his collegiate debut with victories in the 200 and 500 freestyle events. Senior Chris Dattels captured the 200 butterfly while sophomore Brian Slagh won the 100-yard freestyle.

In the women's meet, sophomore Erin VandenBerg was a
double winner capturing the 200 and 500 freestyle events. Other winners were Betsy VandenBerg, 100-yard freestyle; Laura Smith, 100-yard freestyle; Audrey Arnold, 200-yard backstroke; and freshman diver Hannah Rapson on the 3-meter board.
