PHOENIX, Arizona, October 23. THREE more meets are featured this week in the SwimmingWorldMagazine.com Meet of the Week series. The second previewed this week is the Lewis, Hillsdale at Grand Valley State contest.

Here is a quick preview of the match-up:

Date and Time: Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m.
Location: Allendale, Michigan
Facility: Fieldhouse and Rec

Lewis' Last Time Out:
Lewis opens the season on Oct. 24 with a home meet against IIT and Robert Morris, before heading to Allendale for the Meet of the Week.

Looking forward with Lewis' head coach Stephen Thompson:
Grand Valley State is the defending men's GLIAC champion and women's team runners-up. Certainly, we are expecting them to be strong again this year. It is a great opportunity for our team to compete at a high level this early in the season, and it will certainly give us an impression of our team's potential at the GLIAC and NCAA Division II Championships.

Our women's team and Hillsdale have had some great races during my tenure at Lewis. We have traded places at the conference championships over the past two years, and I am looking for a strong challenge from them again this year. They are coming off of an impressive weekend upsetting Ashland, and they looked poised to challenge at the top of the GLIAC.

Hillsdale's Last Time Out:
Last weekend, Hillsdale went on the road and down Ashland, 140.5-139.5, in a close contest.

Linda Okonkowski and Anne Verhoef led the way for Hillsdale with three wins each. The duo paired in the 200 medley relay for the win as Kathryn Hogan, Meredith Scott, Okonkowski and Verhoef touched in 1:52.59 to tie Ashland's team of Emily Hilgert, Maura Anderson, Janice McCloskey and Jessica Hennick in the initial event of the meet that foreshadowed how close the contest would be.

Okonkowski also hit the wall first in the 200 free (1:58.88) and 100 fly (59.53), while Verhoef snagged wins in the 50 (25.34) and 100 (54.66) frees.

Looking forward with Hillsdale's head coach Kurt Kirner:
We are excited to be coming off a big win over Ashland last weekend, and we look at this weekend's meet against Grand Valley and Lewis as another opportunity to get better.

Grand Valley State's Last Time Out:
This will be the season-opener for Grand Valley State

Looking forward with Grand Valley State's head coach Andy Boyce:
With all three teams looking stronger than last year, this GLIAC dual meet should produce some outstanding times.
