Georgia Tech vs. Clemson

CLEMSON, South Carolina, November 5. DESPITE seven first place finishes, the Georgia Tech men's and women's swimming and diving teams each fell to Clemson Friday night in their first ACC dual meet of the season. The men were beaten for the first time in three years 188-110 while the women fell 192-108.

The men's diving corps just continues to improve led by Brandon Makinson who swept the one and three-meter dives for the third-straight meet. Makinson set two new career marks on the night tallying 345.67 points in the one-meter and an unbelievable 391.20 points in the three-meter dive. Makinson's diving partner, Chris Khosravi took second in both of the events with some impressive scores of his own notching 310.72 points in the one-meter, while setting a personal best of 352.95 in the three-meter dive.

Also impressing on the night was freshman Anton Lagerqvist who swept the breaststroke events taking home the 100-meter with a time of 58.05 while earning the win in the 200 in 2:04.00. In the women's 100-Breast, Morgan Trickett nabbed first place with a time of 1:05.87.

Travis Wagner notched the Jackets' first victory of the night in the 200-Free coming across with a time of 1:41.88. After Lagerqvist and Trickett swept the 100-Breast, Keren Siebner recorded a first place finish of her own with a time of 2:06.69 in the 200-Breast.

Tech's sprint corps was also impressive on the night as Kate Riley earned a second place finish in the 50-Free with a time of 24.56 while Garrett Robberson and Nigel Plummer went 2-3 in the 50-Free on the men's side with times of 21.01 and 21.08 respectively.

Lexi Weber continued to impress notching two second place finishes on the night in the 100 and 200-Free. Weber came across with a time of 1:52.62 early on in the night in the 200-Free and later recorded a runner-up performance of 52.51 in the 100-Free.
Jessie Mason, Heidi Hatteberg, and Riley managed to nab 2-3-4 in the 100-Back with respective times of 58.12, 58.42 and 58.88 while Wagner, Eric Chiu and Michael Hart went 2-4-5 in the 100-Fly with times of 51.25, 51.72 and 52.02 respectively.

The Jackets will have a couple of weeks off before they return to action at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational, a three-day competition that will take place from Friday, November 19 until Sunday, November 21 at the Aquatic Center.
