Post Olympics Bump Helps American Swimming Coaches Association to Record Numbers -- September 29, 2008

The confidence of coaches world-wide in our organization is very humbly appreciated. Thank you!
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, September 29. NOT only has USA Swimming seen record growth within the ranks of its swimmers after an amazing run for the sport at the 2008 Beijing Games, the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) just broke a significant barrier within the coaching ranks.

According to ASCA Executive Director John Leonard, the organization has seen its voluntary membership surpass 6,000 to a grand total of 6,011 as of Sept. 29. This is a record for the association.

"This growth in our membership is very encouraging to those who work to educate and certify swim coaches around the world, in service to our swimming community," Leonard said. "The ASCA has been proud to continually expand our efforts in education and advocacy for the sport, not just in the USA, but around the world, with initiatives in a variety of other nations, including Kenya, South Africa, The Philippenes, The UAE, Egypt, Mexico and a variety of other nations. The confidence of coaches world-wide in our organization is very humbly appreciated. Thank you!"
