Jose Finkel Trophy: Nicholas Santos, Thiago Pereira Set Meet Records -- September 3, 2008

SAO PAULO, Brazil, September 3. DURING the first day of swimming at the Jose Finkel Trophy event in Brazil, Nicholas Santos set the meet record in the men's 50 free. Santos won the splash-and-dash in 22.18, breaking his previous mark of 22.35.

Meanwhile, Thiago Pereira nabbed the men's 200 breast meet record with a time of 2:13.37.

In other action, Flavia Delaroli-Cazziolato picked up the women's 50 free title in 25.54, just ahead of Tatiana Barbosa's second-place 25.79. Thamy Ventorin also captured the women's 200 breast crown in 2:38.29.

Poliano Okimoto surfaced with a win in the women's 800 free when she clocked a time of 8:51.25.
