Sweden’s Anna-Karin Kammerling Retires From Swimming

SUNDSVALL, Sweden, September 2. SWEDEN's Anna-Karin Kammerling has announced that she is retiring from the sport of swimming.

Kammerling is an Olympic bronze medalist with a third-place finish in the women's 400 freestyle relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She also finished her career with a silver medal in the 50 fly at the 2005 World Championships, and also took bronze in the 2001 and 2003 events.

Her biggest impact in the sport came in short course events at the 2000 and 2002 World Short Course Championships. She finished her career with five world titles in the shorter pool with wins in the 50 fly in 2002 and the 400 freestyle and medley relays in both 2000 and 2002.
