U.S. Men’s and Women’s Olympic Water Polo Teams To Appear On Season Premier Of Oprah

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, September 1. MEMBERS of the silver medal Men's and Women's Olympic Water Polo Team will appear on the season premier of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

Right on the heels of great success at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China the teams will travel to Chicago this week for the taping in Millennium Park on September 3. The program will air on September 8 and is serving as a welcome home special for United States medalists from the Olympic Games which ended last week. The show generally airs at 3pm in the Los Angeles areas but make sure to check local listings.

USA Water Polo is coming off a historic Olympic Games that saw the highest combined finish ever for a nation of water polo as each squad took home Silver Medals. The men's team completed the Games with their first medal in twenty years since the 1988 games in Seoul while the women's team earned their third straight medal becoming the first country to medal in all three Olympic Games offering women's water polo.

According to information provided in various releases, Oprah will be looking to support Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympic Games.
