PHOENIX, Arizona, June 25. WEDNESDAY'S edition of The Morning Swim Show analyzes another race for Olympic medals and highlights the history of swimming pools.
Host Peter Busch talks with Swimming World senior writer John Lohn about the women's 100 freestyle, which is led by Australian world record holder Libby Trickett. American Natalie Coughlin, German Britta Steffen and Dutch Marleen Veldhuis lead the pack of women pursuing Trickett and her quest for Olympic gold.
In For the Record, Bob Duenkel talks about the history of swimming pools, starting in 1910, when the first pool as we know it today was built in Massachusetts. He also talks about the famous Sutro Baths in San Francisco and how many swimming pools were built on the banks of rivers.
