Jenny Thompson buried the field in the 100m freestyle. No one came close to her 55.47. Thompson, swimming extremely fast, still has a chance of swimming at the 2000 Olympic Games.

Brad Schumacher, the 1996 Olympic gold medalist and 1996 NCAA All-American in water polo, won the 100m freestyle with a time of 51.33.

1996 Olympic gold medalist, Amanda Beard edged out fellow 15-year-old Jilen Siroky with a time of 2:30.73 in the 200m breastroke.

On the men's side 1996 Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Grote won the 200m breastroke with a surprisingly fast 2:14.39.

Misty Hyman continued her dominance in the butterfly by coasting home in the 200m butterfly with a time of 2:10.58.

Other winners included 1996 Olympic gold medalists, Beth Botsford and Brad Bridgewater in their specialty, the 200m backstroke.

Newcomer Steve Brown won the 200m butterfly.
