Russian Nationals: Yuliya Efimova Lowers 100 Breast Russian Record Twice

MOSCOW, Russia, June 3. YULIYA Efimova continued her ascension through the women's breaststroke events as she lowered the 100 breast Russian record twice at the Russian National Championships held in Moscow.

During prelims of the 100 breast, she clocked a time of 1:07.81, beating the 2007 standard of 1:08.04 set by Elena Bogomazova. She then returned with a semifinal time of 1:07.35.

The effort moved her into seventh in the world this year, behind Jade Edmistone and Sarah Poewe's 1:07.10 and in front of Kate Haywood's 1:07.56. The swim also moved Efimova into the top 15 of all time.
