FINA Diving World Series, Sheffield: Guo Jingjing Doubles at Meet -- May 27, 2008

SHEFFIELD, England, May 27. GUO Jingjing, is battling media attention that she might be pregnant, showed no signs of a lack of performance with a pair of golds at the FINA Diving World Series stop held in Sheffield, England.

He Chong won the men's three-meter gold with 506.30 points, while Qin Kai took silver with 475.95 points. Troy Dumais of the U.S. earned bronze with 452.90 points.

In the men's platform event, Huo Liang snagged gold with 518.40 points, while Thomas Dailey (473.15) and Peter Waterfield (472.95) of Great Britain garnered silver and bronze.

Wang Feng and Qin Kai joined up in the men's three-meter synchro to win with 458.22 points, while Russia's Yurij Kunakov and Dmitry Sautin finished second with 428.67 points. Great Britain's team of Ben Swain and Nicholas Robinson-Baker finished third with 417.87 points.

Blake Aldridge and Dailey secured gold in the men's platform synchro for Great Britain with 429.12 points, while Thomas Finchum and David Boudia of the U.S. took silver with 421.56 points. Cuba's Jose Guerra and Eric Fornaris grabbed bronze with 407.76 points.

Guo Jingjing performed well with a 380.45-point tally to win the women's three-meter. Canada's Blythe Hartley placed second with 356.35 points, while Wu Minxia took third with 340.00 points.

Mexico's Paola Espinosa pulled off an upset of Wang Xin in the women's platform event, 393.90 to 369.05, while Canada's Emilie Heymans finished third with 344.10 points.

Wu Minxia and Guo Jingjing collected gold in the women's three-meter synchro with 332.10 points, while Russia's Yuliya Pakhalina and Anastasia Pozdnyakova took second with 321.06 points. Ariel Rittenhouse and Kelci Bryant of the U.S. placed third with 301.80 points.

In the women's platform synchro, Canada's Marie Eve Marleau and Heymans snagged gold with 341.52 points, while Great Britain's Monique McCarrol and Sarah Barrow turned in a second-place 308.46-point tally. Espinosa and Tatiana Ortiz of Mexico rounded out the podium with 306.87 points.
