Host Peter Busch starts the show with an interview with Amanda Beard, a three-time Olympian and gold medalist in the 200 breast in 2004. Beard is training for a shot at her fourth Olympic Games, and talks about her training now, how she is preparing for the Olympic Trials and how she sees her competition. Beard also talks about how she had to rearrange her workload to be able to fit in all the training required to be at her peak level.

Beard also talks about her sponsorship with Speedo and how she thinks turning professional before college is not necessarily the best idea.

After talking with Beard, Busch mentions the news that Greece's Ioannis Drymonakos, the second-fastest swimmer in the men's 200 fly so far this year, tested positive for a banned substance. He also runs down the newest masters world records and the upcoming swimming and diving competitions this weekend, including the Cactus Classic, sponsored by Swimming World Magazine and a meet in Vancouver featuring Olympians from Canada and Australia.
