April 30, 2008 Laure Manaudou's last 50m split in the 200 free WR is wrong, should be 29.83, not 28.83. Submitted by: Sphere
April 30, 2008 He also has Hinkelein Schreuder of the Netherlands listed as a former American record holder in the 100 free list Submitted by: Park528
April 30, 2008 sorry I meant the notation next to Schreuder's 24.59 time. Submitted by: Park528
May 1, 2008 Thanks for noticing the error in Manadcou's final 50 split on her 200 free wr.
Bad math on my part.
As for the Dutch girl's [Schreuder's] 100 free, I looked at the time again and I do not see any reference that she's a former AR-holder in this race. Submitted by: slickwillie32
May 1, 2008 It is a notation in the 50 free rankings, my fault. Submitted by: Park528
May 1, 2008 I didn't want to get all nitpicky, but here are a few facts you have incorrectly. Change if you want, as I hope I am only helping.
1) Hoezler won the 200 free, not 200 back at NCAA. She's never won the 200 back. Coventry did, Hoezler 2nd, and in fact, Coughlin was 3rd.
2) Schipper's first name is typed wrong in 200 fly.
3) Hoff's 200 IM 150 split states 1:19, I believe it should be 1:39.
4) Klochkova broke both IM WRs at the 2000 Olympics, but you stated Petra Schneider was the last before Rice.
5) Whitney Meyes 200 IM first name is spelled incorrectly.
6) Hoff's 400 IM 100 back split should be 1:10, not 1:04. Submitted by: swimgeek
May 1, 2008 I appreciate that this was an incredible undertaking in compiling this list. However, a few minor corrections I noticed. The specific note re: the Dutch woman is clearly underneather her 50 free listing, and just looks like it ws intended for a notation under Dara Torres. Second there are some minor issues with Mary T Meagher's notations. Her fastest time, the former world record was done in 1981, when she was 16. So it is NOT the 13-14 NAG. The 13-14 NAG would be her 2:07.01 (or at least very low 2:07. from 1979, I believe at US Summer National IN Lauderdale. Then further down those same performances listings, her 2:06.09, dated 8-5-85 in Mission Viejo is therefore NOT the 17-18 NAG. She 17-18 NAG is not within my reach right now, but I think it was her reportedly (according to a Swimming World I remember reading from that meet) unshaved and unrested low 2:07 from the World Champ trials in Mission Viejo in 82. May 1, 2008 SWIMGEEK: Think this over again. Rice JUST this year broke the 200IM WR of the Chinese girl from '97. Yana only got the Olympic record in Sydney. Schneider WAS the last the do that feat at those '80 GDR Olympic Trials. Her 200 IM time there, I believe was 2:13.00, breaking Caulkins record that she had broken that previouos Jan or Feb in the meet that became the USS International. Schneider's 400IM WR time at the trials broke her previous time that made her first to break 4:40 in that event. I think she was in the 4:38 range.
I apologize for my my spelling/grammatical errors in the posts above.
To further explain what I was trying to communicate re the Dutcg girl. Go to the "Remaining Top 25 Performers", then go down four. Then look at parenthesis notation clearly previously meant as a space for Torres.
By the way, I haven't printed out the entire listing, but was it ever noted what is listed at the longest standing or remaining. Is it Wickham's 400 free from '78? Submitted by: Park528
May 2, 2008 Ooop. I stand corrected. Sometimes I forget about the Chinese. I apologize. Well at least I got 5 out of 6 correct! :-) Submitted by: swimgeek
May 2, 2008 And you know what anyway, isn't just worth forgetting about them anyway during those dark years?? So who can really blame you for forgetting about that. I apologize, because I may have across rather brash and rude.
Fun exchanging comments with you! Cheers! Submitted by: Park528
