Quebec Cup: Meet Comes to End

MONTREAL, Quebec, March 9. THE final night of long course swimming at the Quebec Cup held in Montreal came to an close.

Victoria Poon began the night with a win in the women's 100 free when she hit the wall in 56.60. Fred Bousquet matched the effort as he surfaced triumphant from the men's 100 free with a swift time of 49.96.

Audrey Lacroix had a fight on her hands in the women's 200 fly, but took a 2:10.58 to 2:10.70 victory over Stephanie Horner. Meanwhile, Tobias Work grabbed the men's 200 fly in 2:03.35.

Gabrielle Soucisse picked up a win in the women's 200 back with a time of 2:15.46, while Keith Beaver earned a victory in the men's 200 back in 2:01.33.

Genevieve Crevier touched first in the women's 200 breast with a time of 2:34.32, while Mathieu Bois stopped the clock in 2:18.43 for the men's 200 breast title.

Simon Tobin closed out the individual portion of the meet by posting a 16:22.59 in the men's 1500 free.

In disability events, Valerie Grand-Maison won the women's 100 free in 1:02.24, while Benoit Huot took the men's 100 free in 54.84. Grand-Maison also won the women's 100 back in 1:14.91, while Brian Hill took the men's 100 back in 1:05.26.
