IRVINE, California, March 9. The loss dropped the Sun Devils to 11-9 overall and 1-4 in the MPSF while the Anteaters improved to 10-7 overall and 3-4 in the MPSF.

The game opened with the Sun Devils taking a 3-2 lead through the first quarter of play before building that into a 5-2 lead at the half. But, a 3-0 third quarter for the Anteaters tied the game at five before both teams scored three each in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

In the first extra session, UCI scored for a 9-8 lead before the Sun Devils responded in the second overtime to force sudden victory overtime. After neither team scored in the third overtime, the hosts tallied a goal in the fourth session for the 10-9 victory.
