USA Swimming Sectionals, Federal Way: Andie Taylor, Morgon Henderson-Kunz Win a Pair

FEDERAL WAY, Washington, March 7. THE third night of swimming at the USA Swimming Sectional held in Federal Way, Wash., proved to be nice and quick with only six events on the docket.

In the women's 200 free, Andie Taylor, 16, of King Aquatics touched out Whitney Lopus, 17, of Brophy East, 2:01.11 to 2:01.38, while Morgon Henderson-Kunz, 17, of Tualatin Hills had a much easier time of it with a winning effort of 1:55.04 in the men's 200 free.

Fresh off a third-place 2:03.05 in the 200 free, Caitlin Leverenz, 17, of El Dorado Aquatics destroyed the field in the women's 400 IM to the tune of a 4:41.51, while Brophy East's Alex Lendrum, 16, claimed the men's 400 IM title in 4:31.88.

The night came to a quick close with the 400 freestyle relay. King's quartet of Heather Brand, Svet Karpeeva, Taylor and Megan Jendrick notched a time of 3:52.18, while Tualatin Hills won the men's title with a 3:32.04 from Steven Ung, Carlos Nunez, Jonathan Rooker and Henderson-Kunz.
