CAA Championships: Day Three -- February 29, 2008

FAIRFAX, Virginia, February 29. THREE women's swimming records, a women's diving record and a men's swimming record fell at the CAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Towson leads the women's championship standings with 485.5. The Tigers are followed by George Mason with 345 points and UNC Wilmington with 337. UNC Wilmington leads on the men's side with 464 points, followed by Old Dominion with 397 and George Mason with 347.

UNC Wilmington's Caitlin Kirsteier set a CAA championship record, winning the 100 butterfly in 53.90. Her time, the fastest in the CAA this season, is also an NCAA ‘B' cut.

William & Mary's Katie Radloff set her second meet record in as many days, taking the 200 freestyle in 1:48.19. The sophomore has now won eight CAA championships. Radloff, James Madison's P.J. Naber (1:48.45), Northeastern's Kathrine Fugge (1:50.26) and William & Mary's Marina Falcone (1:50.28) had NCAA ‘B' cuts.

Radloff joined three of her Tribe teammates and set a CAA Championship record in the 200 freestyle relay, stopping the clock in 1:33.22. Emily Burns, Lindsay Guers and Marina Falcone joined Radloff on the record-setting team.

Drexel's Kate Hynes broke her own championship record on the one-meter board with 327.95 points, her second record of this year's championship. She defeated second-place finisher Amanda Fielding of George Mason (268.35) by nearly sixty points.

George Mason's Eric Knight broke the seven year-old record in the 100 breaststroke by five one-hundredths of a second. Knight stopped the clock in 54.93, an NCAA ‘B' cut. The previous record was set in 2001 by American's Dominick Szabo.
