Wisconsin Men’s Division 1 High School State Championships

MADISON, Wisconsin, March 1. ARROWHEAD dethroned the defending champions at the Wisconsin Men's Division I Championships by the smallest of margins, defeating Madison Memorial by one point.

Arrowhead's tight race for fourth in the 400 freestyle relay proved to be the nail in the coffin for the Madison Memorial men with the final score reading 217-216. Marquette University took third with 181 points.

Wes Lagerhausen, a Badger/Big Foot senior and a Swimming World four-star recruit who's headed off to the University of Wisconsin next season, claimed two individual event wins. Lagerhausen fell just short of Kyle Bubolz's 2004 state mark in the 50 freestyle (21.47), winning the event nonetheless in 20.51. Lagerhausen notched win No. 2 on the weekend when he clocked a 45.12 100 freestyle.

Neenath's Alex Mishun squeaked out a first-place finish in the diving event with a 406.55 score. Jacob Koll of Racine Park placed second (405.05) while Homestead's Robert Berousek came in third with a 380.30 score.
