French Cup, Lyon: Laure Manaudou Claims Two Titles On First Day

LYON, France, February 22. IN the French Cup long course meet being held in Lyon, France, Laure Manaudou doubled her fun with a versatile double during the first day of swimming

Manaudou captured the 50 back with a time of 29.61, while also walking home with the title in the 800 free in 8:36.09.

Other sprint winners for the women included Christina Chiuso in the 50 free (26.01), Anne Sophie Le Paranthoen in the 50 breast (31.73) and Alena Popchanka in the 50 fly (27.22), while Kalliopi Araouzou snagged the other distance event with a time of 16:51.36 in the 1500 free.

For the men, Maciej Hreniak won the 1500 free in 15:30.18, while Ioannia Drymonakos touched first in the 800 free (8:11.21).

In the sprint events, Fabien Gilot (50 free: 22.26), Alessandro Terrin (50 breast: 28.05), Markus Rogan (50 back: 26.40) and Francois Heersbrandt (50 fly: 24.66) placed first.
