Adkins Qualifies First in 200 Back Prelims -- August 14, 2000 Amanda Adkins & Lindsay Benko just before qualifying 1-2 in the 200 Back.

Amanda Adkins qualified first in the 200 back with a 2:13.38, coming from behind in her heat to beat out second place qualifier Lindsay Benko, the 200 free champion, who swam a 2:14.20. The third qualifier was 1992 Olympian Lea Maurer (2:14.86). Fourth was Jamie Reid (2:15.10), fifth Beth Botsford (2:15.42), sixth Keegan Walkley (2:16.20), seventh Christy Perret (2:16.27), eighth Shelly Ripple (2:16.62).

Rounding out the semi-final: Jessica Aveyard (2:16.64), Linda Riker (2:17.02), Lia Oberstar (2:17.22), Alice Henriques (2:17.38), Katie Cowan (2:17.54), Taylor Spivey (2:17.67) , Jessica Hayes (2:17.71) and Marisa Kozak (2:17.80).
