South Korean Swimmer Draws Two-Year Doping Ban

SEOUL, South Korea, December 24. ACCORDING to reporting by The Korea Times, Shin Hae-in has drawn a two-year doping ban from the Korea Swimming Federation.

The paper states that the swimmer "tested positive for testosterone at October's National Sports Festival in Gwangju."

At the meet, the 18-year-old won the women's 100 fly with a then-national record time of 59.64, but wound up testing positive for testosterone and will be stripped of the time and title.

The Korea Times also reported that Shin "blamed her positive test on oriental medicine she took … to treat her shoulder pains."
