Seven National Records Fall at Swiss Championships

USTER, Switzerland, December 4. OVER the weekend, Switzerland held its Short Course Championships in Uster from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. During the course of the meet, seven national records fell by the wayside as Switzerland's best took to the pool.

Celine Baillod led the meet with a trio of national records. Overall, six women's standards were set, while one fell on the men's side of the equation.

Dominik Meichtry clocked a time of 1:45.81 to break the men's 200 freestyle record for the lone men's record.

Meanwhile, Baillod, Martina Van Berkel and Carla Stampfli set records on Dec. 1. Baillod took down a pair of records with top times in the 50 breast (31.61) and 100 IM (1:02.45). Van Berkel touched in 2:13.42 in the 200 fly, while Stampfli won the 100 back in 1:00.55.

On Dec. 2, Baillod returned with her third record when she surfaced from the 200 IM in 2:15.86, while Patrizia Humplik touched in 1:07.65 in the 100 breast.
