Army, Florida State at Harvard

BOSTON, Massachusetts, November 3. IN an 18 hour span on Friday and Saturday the Florida State swimming and diving team defeated three teams to finish the weekend 6-0.

The No. 24 ranked Seminole men defeated Boston College 180-104 while the No. 21 ranked women beat the Eagles 177-115. Then the FSU men squeaked by Harvard 123-120 and beat Army 178-65. The women defeated the Crimson 136.5-106.5 and the Cadets 178-65.

Sophomore diver Terry Horner (Orlando, Fla.) once again broke his own school record on the one-meter board with a score of 405.75 on Saturday. The FSU men's divers swept both diving events on Saturday with Horner and junior Scott Derner tying for first on the three-meter board (324.35). Junior Scott Baker (Lake Mary, Fla.) also had an outstanding weekend winning the 50 free at both meets with his fastest time being Friday night (20.26).

On the women's side, freshman Holly Mills (Ruislip, Middlesex, England) once again swam a NCAA "B" cut time in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.72. Mills also won the 200 free in a time of 1:50.59. Senior Abbie King (Brunswick, ME) swept the 50 free (23.86) and 100 free (51.38) on Saturday. The Seminoles were able to wrap up the meet when freshman Lowri Tynan (Wrexham, Clwyd, Wales) won the 200 breast (2:19.17).
