Jackson Outswims Wyoming 3A High School Competition

GILLETTE, Wyoming, October 30. JACKSON'S women proved to be the class of the Wyoming 3A State Championships, winning the state title by 80 points. Jackson led the pack with 345 points throughout the two-day meet. Lander placed second with 265 points while Buffalo took third (168).

The Jackson women snared both freestyle relays. The grouping of Maddy Wigg, Cummings Rork, Jesse Mayers and Rene Woodmencey teamed up in the 200 freestyle relay to win by a two-second margin with a 1:44.06 time. Jackson touched out Lander in the 400 freestyle relay, as Wigg, Gracey Lewis, Lea Kindt and Woodmencey recorded a 3:49.68 time.

Woodmencey led the Jackson charge, tallying wins in both the 200 freestyle (2:01.48) and the 100 freestyle (55.30). Buffalo's Summer Bell earned first-place finishes in both individual events she swam, outperforming the field in the 200 IM (2:18.42) and the 100 butterfly (1:03.29).

Jackson dominated the diving event, taking the top three spots. Maddie McClelland captured gold with a 314.10 score, Amanda Fay placed second with a 308.85 score and Nikki Kaliebe rounded out the Jackson sweep with a score of 286.25.
