SEATTLE, Washington, October 20. THANKS to multiple victories by several of the men, the Seattle University men's swim team defeated both Linfield College (80-15) and Simon Fraser (53-42), while the women's team defeated Linfield (82-13) but lost to Simon Fraser (63-32) Saturday afternoon in a double-dual meet at the Connolly Center pool.

Gordon Smith (Kennewick, Wash.), Doug Djang (Seattle, Wash.), and Bryson Chiu (Carmel, Ind.) each won two individual events as the Seattle men finished first in eight of 11 events. Smith was victorious in the 200 freestyle (1:44.51) and 500 freestyle (4:43.24), Djang came out on top in the 50 freestyle (21.71) and 100 freestyle (47.87), and Chiu finished first in the 400 individual medley (4:17.87) and 100 backstroke (54.62).

The quartet of Djang, Smith, Chris Coley (Austin, Texas), and Bryant Bevers (Federal Way, Wash.) won by a second and a half with a time of 1:28.34. Coley also won the 100 butterfly in 52.27 seconds.

On the women's side, Christina Hunsberger (Bellevue, Wash.) was the only Seattle swimmer to win an event, finishing first in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:55.87. Kelsey Henan (Billings, Mont.) earned two second place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:58.56) and the 500 freestyle (5:18.85), as did Alex Weiss (Reno, Nev.) in the 400 individual medley (4:47.93) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.89).
