Kodak Leaving Olympic Movement After Beijing

BEIJING, China, October 12. EASTMAN KODAK, which is currently one of 12 sponsors in The Olympic Program, will end its business relationship with the Games after the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. According to Business Week, the company is heading in another direction and will no longer take part in the highest-level business program offered by the Olympics. In Beijing, Kodak will stage an imaging center for photographers and handle Olympic identification.

"Our new business strategy requires us to reassess our marketing tactics as well, and adapt them to changing market conditions and evolving customer behavior," the company said in a statement.

The change ends an extremely long relationship, as Kodak had been affiliated with the Olympics since 1896.
