Carson Daly to Host The USA Swimming Foundation’s Golden Goggle Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, October 8. LATE night talk show host Carson Daly (NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly") will host the fourth-annual USA Swimming Foundation Golden Goggle Awards which will be held Sunday, November 18 at the world-renowned Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. The star-studded gala will feature top American swimming stars including Olympians Michael Phelps, Natalie Coughlin and Ryan Lochte, in addition to a multitude of celebrities, including actors and actresses, U.S. Olympic heroes, and business leaders.

Daly, who in addition to his NBC talk show has hosted a number of primetime specials as well as "NBC's New Years Eve With Carson Daly" since 2004, will host the Golden Goggle Awards for the first time. The former early evening voice of KROQ-FM in Los Angeles rose to fame as host and executive producer of MTV's "Total Request Live" where he helped to transform the afternoon music video program into a cultural phenomenon. Since leaving MTV, Daly has hosted his NBC talk show beginning in January 2002.

The Golden Goggle Awards is the signature event of the USA Swimming Foundation. The event will double as a fundraising dinner and awards show celebrating the swimming accomplishments of 2007, a year in which USA Swimming had one of its most successful international seasons to date. Nominees for the 2007 Golden Goggle Awards will be announced on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007. For the first time, fans can help determine the winners through an on-line voting feature.

Special thanks to USA Swimming for contributing this report.
