Two Australian Masters Records Fall

By Graham Senders, Australian Masters Correspondent

PERTH, Western Australia, October 8. TWO recent Australian records went down at the Saturday Short Course twilight meet held at the Thornlie Leisure Centre on October 6.

Sally Bell of Claremont AUSSI took 3.04 seconds off the 45-49 year 200 Bbackstroke record she set in August this year with a time of 2:38.00. Colin Mayrhofer also of Claremont AUSSI broke the 65-69 year 100 IM record set last month in New South Wales by 0.40 seconds with a time of 1:19.56.

Claremont AUSSI won the carnival from surprise performers Albany AUSSI. Albany is from 250 miles (400 kms) south of Perth with a postal entry that pushed usual powerhouse Osborne Park AUSSI into third place.
