Junior Shannon Hazelton came in first place in the 100 backstroke (58.16) and the 100 freestyle (53.71). Freshman Laura Heckroth came in first place in the 1000 freestyle (10:33.90) and the 200 butterfly (2:14.47). In the other events, freshman Jacy Dyer came in first in the 200 freestyle (1:53.49), junior Kylie Gamelier won the 100 breaststroke (1:05.10) and in the 500 freestyle Sam Telljohann won with a time of 5:16.11.

"I thought that we did well today," Head Coach Lars Jorgensen said, "but we need people to contribute more than what they did. Shannon Hazelton was our best swimmer today. She was as fast as she was last season, which is good for her this early."

In the relays, Leah Woodard, Jennifer Parker, Hazelton and Megan Friedli won the 400 medley with a time of 4:02.85.

Special thanks to Toledo for contributing this report.
