Richard Quick to Speak at Operation Rise and Conquer

MIAMI, Florida, September 27. SIX-time Olympic swim coach Richard Quick will be a featured speaker at Operation Rise & Conquer, a program for injured veterans, on Saturday, September 29, in Jackson Gap, Ala.

Operation Rise & Conquer is part of Lakeshore Foundation's Lima Foxtrot Programs for Injured Military. Lima Foxtrot programs offer severely injured soldiers the opportunity to learn to adjust and adapt to their new injuries through participation in fitness, recreation and sports activities.

"I was honored to be asked to speak this very special group of people," said Quick. "It's too easy for most of us to ignore the sacrifices our troops and their families are making. If I can help motivate these injured soldiers to embrace their new life circumstances and make the most of their future, it will mean as much if not more to me than coaching Olympic athletes to achieve success."

Quick is currently the head swim coach at Auburn University, his 31st season as an NCAA Division I head coach. He has coached numerous Olympic swimmers to more than 100 medals, including one of the all-time greatest Olympians, Jenny Thompson.
