Chinese National Championships: Shi Feng Joins Zhou Jiawei With Olympic Standard in 100 Fly

CHONG QING, China, September 25. SHI Feng upset Wu Peng during the 100 butterfly at the Chinese National Championships held in Chong Qing, with an Olympic qualification time of 52.61 according to a report by the Xinhua News Agency.

Shi's time surpassed the second-place 53.13 clocked by Wu and also joined Zhou Jiawei's Asian record of 52.19 at the China Open meet in Beijing as the country's first two qualifiers in the event.

In other action at the national meet, Pang Jiaying turned in a time of 54.50 to win the women's 100 free, which vaulted her into the top 10 in the world this year, just ahead of Great Britain's Fran Halsall's 54.56 clocked in July.

Other winners included Shi Yang in the men's 50 free (22.93), Sun Yang in the men's 400 free (3:50.19) and You Meihong, 14, in the women's 800 free (8:36.24).
