More Records Seen at Israeli Summer Nationals

JERUSALEM, Israel, August 8. THREE Israeli open and two national records took a fall at the Israeli Summer National Championships.

Anna Gostomelski turned in an Israeli national and Open record with a time of 55.46 in the women's 100 free that eclipsed her previous standard of 56.27. Meanwhile, George Bovell clocked a 50.22 in the men's 100 free to set the Open standard.

The 200 breaststroke records also took some hits as Nastia Korotkov recorded her second national record in as many days with a 2:33.81 in the 200 after setting the 100 yesterday. Tom Beeri then touched in 2:14.36 in the men's final to register an Israeli Open standard. In that same race, Juan Kopty took second in 2:19.97, which is a 17-and-under Israeli record.

Other individual winners included Amit Bacher in the women's 200 fly (2:21.45), Meir Hatzbani in the men's 200 fly (2:01.35), Anat Zimin, 14, in the women's 50 back (30.30) and Guy Barnea in the men's 50 back (25.95).
