USA Swimming Nationals: Great Britain Wins Men’s 800 Freestyle Relay

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, August 2. IN something of an oddity, Great Britain won the United States national title in the men's 800 freestyle relay when the team of David Carry, Robbie Renwick, Andrew Hunter and Ross Davenport stopped the clock in 7:19.27.

Meanwhile, Club Wolverine's quartet of Bobby Savulich, Adam DeJong, Sal Barba and Chris Dejong finished second in 7:19.75, while Tucson Ford's international foursome of Ryk Neethling, Darian Townsend, American Matt Biel and Jean Basson placed third in 7:22.40. Notably, Chris DeJong dropped the hammer on his anchor leg with a split of 1:46.02.

Incidentally, Great Britain's B team of Robert Lang, Daniel Coombs, John Owen and Dean Milwain placed fourth in 7:25.81.
