Larsen Jensen Officially Added to TYR Stable of Swimmers

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, July 26. LARSEN Jensen has officially joined TYR's stable of swimmers that includes such stars as Hayley Peirsol, Leila Vaziri, Erik Vendt and Amanda Weir. Jensen inked a multi-year deal running through the 2012 Olympic Games according to a release sent out from TYR today.

"Larsen has been a TYR guy since high school, and it's great to make it official as a professional" TYR Director of Promotions Matt Zimmer said. "Our pro team is filled with athletes who pride themselves on outworking their competition – and Larsen is no different. He brings fire to his events, a determination to succeed, and the confidence we look for in our athletes. Larsen fits in with our group as a man who hates losing as much as he loves winning. He's a great fit for our team. He's going to be on the medal stand in 2008."

Here is the rest of the release from TYR:
Larsen has proven himself as one of the greatest distance swimmers in the world and leads the pack of U.S. champions set to compete in Beijing. He has experience on his side with a victory at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games that captured a Silver medal in the 1500m Freestyle.

As an American phenom Larsen has established himself as a dominating distance force capturing six career U.S. National titles and setting American Records in the 1500m and 800m Freestyle. Internationally, he has claimed a Bronze at the 2006 World Championship and Silver at both the 2003 & 2005 World Swimming Championship.

With five unbroken American and age-group records to his credit, Larsen has exceptional personal integrity and the unmatched drive of an Olympian. He is poised to impress swim fans and competitors in the coveted waters of China.

"It is great to be a part of the TYR family of athletes," said Jensen. "TYR is on the cutting edge of producing suits that will allow me to maximize my potential in the water. I have had a long standing relationship with TYR and could not ask for a better partner as I prepare for the Olympic Trials."

Larsen is a multiple NCAA All-American swimmer that came of age swimming for the Mission Viejo Nadadores. He then went on to amaze die-hard swim fans by controlling the NCAA victory stand in the nautical mile for the University of Southern California from 2004 until his graduation in 2007.
