Valerio Cleri, Kerianne Payne Emerge Victorious from LEN Open Water Cup Stop in Milan

MILAN, Italy, July 8. ITALY's Valerio Cleri and Great Britain's Kerianne Payne claimed wins in their respective divisions at the second stop of the Ligue Europeenne de Natation (LEN) Open Water Cup. The event took place over the Olympic 10K distance.

Cleri led an Italian medal trio with a time off 1:56:01.4, while Nicola Bolzonello (1:56:04.3) and Andrea Righi (1:56:06.5) swept the rest of the men's medals for Italy.

Great Britain ruled the women's race with a 1-2 finish. Payne edged compatriot Cassandra Patten, 2:05:03.3 to 2:05:03.9, for the title, while France's Aurelie Muller rounded out the top three in 2:05:04.9.
