Sarah Sjostrom Shines at Swedish Age Group Championships

MALMO, Sweden, July 2. SARAH Sjostrom posted a trio of meet records for the 14-year-old age group at the Swedish Age Group Championships held in Malmo, Sweden from June 28-July 1. Meanwhile, Hanna Westrin and Linus Junefelt shot down a pair of other meet standards to give the long course meter competition five for the meet.

Westrin picked up a meet record in the opening day of the event when she clocked a 1:11.07 in the 15-16 100 breaststroke.

The second day witnessed Sjostrom put together a pair of meet-record swims in the 14-year-old age group. First, she stopped the clock in 1:01.99 in the 100 butterfly before hitting the wall in 2:07.50 in the 200 freestyle.

After a third day that went without meet-record fireworks, Sjostrom returned with another record among the 14 year olds on the fourth and final night of competition. She wound up clocking a 57.76 in the 100 free for her third meet standard.

Junefelt gave the boys their only meet record of the competition when he came back with a 2:07.80 in the 200 butterfly to grab the 15-16 meet standard.
