Elena Bogomazova Posts Meet Record, Laure Manaudou Earns More Hardware in Final Day of French National Championships

SAINT RAPHAEL, France, June 28. DURING the final day of long course meter competition at the French National Championships held in Saint Raphael, France, from June 24-28, Elena Bogomazova and Laure Manaudou posted some quality performances.

Bogomazova set the women's 50 breaststroke meet record twice with a time of 31.73 in prelims and 31.71 en route to the title. The swims surpassed the 32.17 set by Kate Haywood of Britain in 2006.

Meanwhile, Manaudou clocked a 1:01.22 in the 100 backstroke to win another national title, her 49th total. She stands one short of the national record held by Claude Mandonnaud.

The other top time from the women's meet came from Aurelie Muller, who clocked a 16:27.97 in the 1500 freestyle. Sebastien Rouault came through in the men's distance event with a time of 15:04.77.

Other men's winners included Camille Lacourt with a time of 55.39 in the 100 back, touching out Benjamin Stasiulis (55.47), and Hugues Duboscq in the 50 breast with a time of 28.64, holding off Eetu Karvonen (28.78) and Tony de Pellegrini (28.89).
