Swimming Australia Chief Believes Australia-U.S. Duel in the Pool May Be No More

BELCONNEN, Australia, June 27. WITH the recent talk of a USA versus Europe matchup similar to the U.S. versus Australia Duel in the Pool concept, Swimming Australia chief Glenn Tasker has voiced concern that the two cannot co-exist, according to an article at Foxsports Australia via the Australian Associated Press.

The article contains several quotes from Tasker stating that the USA-Australia dual meet would be in trouble with the addition of a USA-Europe contest.

"In reality it makes a lot of sense when you look at it," Tasker said. "We have had three duels against the US and while the women have won two of them, overall we have lost the pointscore quite convincingly and that is directly related to depth.

"I think US versus Europe would be a real goer and if it were to happen I think it would be the death knell of Australia versus USA," Tasker continued. "There was a slight hint that Australia might be involved in those discussions I would not think Europe would want us anywhere near it."
