Brian Johns, Brent Hayden Log Meet Records in Day Two of Swimming at Mel Zajac International Grand Prix

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 2. IN the second day of long course meter competition at the Mel Zajac International Grand Prix held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Brian Johns and Brent Hayden posted a pair of meet records.

Johns grabbed the 200 IM title in 2:03.10 to wipe out the 2:03.31 set by Tamas Kerekjarto on June 3, 2006. Meanwhile, Hayden dropped his previous 50 free standard of 22.92 set on the same day as Kerekjarto's with a time of 22.79 to pick up the splash-and-dash crown.

Ariana Kukors doubled up in the women's meet with wins in the 50 back (29.96) and the 200 IM (2:16.33).

In other women's action, Jessica Rodriguez (4:16.43 – 400 free), MacKenzie Downing (1:00.69 – 100 fly), Jackie Vavrek (26.56 – 50 free), Annamay Pierse (2:31.08 – 200 breast) earned titles. Pierse claimed the big upset of the day as Megan Jendrick wound up third in the 200 breast in 2:33.79 behind Pierse and Chelsey Salli (2:33.59).

Men's wins came from David Cromwell (26.25 – 50 back), Ryan Cochrane (3:55.32 – 400 free), Adam Sioui (55.01 – 100 fly) and CJ Nuess (2:20.51 – 200 breast).
