Anatoliy Poliakov Provisionally Suspended by FINA for Positive Drug Test

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, April 27. FINA announced the provisional suspension of Russian Anatoliy Poliakov for testing positive to Boldenone on Jan. 23, 2007 according to a recent release from the organization.

In the release, FINA stated that, as per FINA Rule DC 7.1.12, it decided to provisionally suspend Poliakov as of April 25, 2007 until a hearing before the FINA Doping Panel. Poliakov tested positive as part of an unannounced out-of-competition test.

Boldenone, also known as Equipoise, Ganabol, Equigan and Ultragan, is an anabolic steroid typically used for the treatment of horses.
