SwimmingWorldRadio Talks With Dave Salo About 800 Freestyle Final

MELBOURNE, Australia, March 27. THE head coach of the University of Southern California, Dave Salo will have a vested interest in the outcome of tonight's championship final of the 800 freestyle. Salo is the coach of Tunisia's Ous Mellouli, who won the silver medal in the 400 freestyle earlier in the meet and will be a leading contender for gold in the 800 free.

Mellouli is expected to duel with the Australian tandem of Grant Hackett and Craig Stevens. Hackett, of course, is the world-record holder and defending champion while Stevens had a superb prelim swim to garner the top seed for the final. Hackett, who won bronze in the 400 free, will try to regain a bit of the magic he's known over the years.

Listen as SwimmingWorldRadio talks with Salo about the strategies needed to win the 800 freestyle.
