Russia’s Gleb Galperin Upsets Chinese to Win Men’s Tower Event at Worlds

MELBOURNE, Australia, March 24. RUSSIA's Gleb Galperin pulled off an incredible upset of a pair of Chinese divers to win the men's tower title at the FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

Galperin put together a consistent set of dives for 554.70 points, including 100.70 points from his final-round dive (backward 2.5 somersaults with 2.5 twists). He also posted a pair of perfect 10s in the third and fourth rounds.

Meanwhile, China's Zhou Luxin took home silver with 519.16 points, including 108.00 points from a perfect run of 10s in the fourth round when he nailed a backward 3.5 somersault.

China's Lin Yue pocketed bronze with 513.70 points to close out the podium.
