Handful of U.S. Masters Records Go Down

WOODLAND HILLS, California, March 21. A number of United States Masters records were recently wiped out at the Southwest Masters Meet at Pierce College. Caroline Krattli demolished three 45-49 standards in the breaststroke events, going 31.14 in the 50, 1:06.22 in the 100 and 2:26.59 in the 200. The last record slashed nearly nine seconds off the previous mark.

Meanwhile, Jeff Farrell set a 70-74 record in the 50 freestyle as his clocking of 25.25 dipped under the 25.41 previously held by Cav Cavanaugh. Finally, West Hollywood Aquatics (Justin Brannock, Matthew Schmidt, Brian Oliver and Jonathan Russell) tied the 18-24 800 free relay record by clocking a time of 7:09.51. Davis Aquatics also shares the record, from 1996.
