Russia’s Larisa Ilchenko Doubles Up Open Water Events at Worlds

MELBOURNE, Australia, March 20. RUSSIA's Larisa Ilchenko picked up her second gold in as many tries in open water competition at the FINA World Championships held in Melbourne, Australia.

After winning the 5K a few days ago, Ilchenko crossed the line first in the 10K with a time of 2:03:57.9.

Meanwhile, Britain's Cassandra Patten snagged silver with a 2:03:58.9 time, while Australian Kate Brookes-Peterson earned bronze in 2:03:59.5.

The top American finish came from Kalyn Keller, who clocked a 2:04:10.0 for ninth place.
