Falmouth High School Women Win Fourth Straight Maine “B” Title

BANGOR, Maine, March 19. FALMOUTH High School notched its fourth straight state championship in the women's Maine "B" Championships. Falmouth took home the team title with 344 points overall. Greely High School placed second, scoring 319 points, while Mount Desert Island High School placed third with 250 points.

Falmouth jumped out to an early lead with a victory from the 200 medley relay quartet of Alicia Hahn, Kristin Jackson, Keli Gillespie and Adrianne Madden (1:54.83). The grouping of Gillespie, Laura Lazenby, Jackson and Hahn bested Greely's team in the 400 freestyle relay, winning in a time of 3:47.42.

Hahn led the way for Falmouth by winning both of her individual events. She captured the 100 freestyle title in a time of 54.36 and she also dominated the 100 backstroke (59.78).

Emily Lewandowski, a St. Dominic Regional High School senior, ended her high school career by winning both of her individual events. She placed first in the 200 I.M. by over four seconds (2:14.79), and she edged out Falmouth's Jackson in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.63).

McAuley's Kristen Desrosiers snared first place finishes in both of her individual events as well, taking the 200 freestyle (1:58.57) and the 500 freestyle (5:20.62).

Jessica Howard of Greely won the diving title (297.75). Sarah Kaminow of North Yarmouth Academy scored 295.15 points and placed second while Ashlie Stout scored 262.35 points and placed third.
