One-meter Diving Prelims Complete at Women’s NCAA Division I Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, March 8. ALTHOUGH the lead won't stand, Indiana University can claim that they lead at the Women's NCAA Division I Championships for a brief moment after grabbing 11 of the first team points awarded at the meet during one-meter preliminary and consolation diving competition.

In yet another change in diving competition, the 9-16 divers from the preliminary round came back and competed in a consolation round for placements.

IU's Brittney Feldman and Lindsay Weigle secured 11 team points as Feldman took 10th with 330.90 points and Weigle placed 13th with 325.15 points.

Texas' Mary Yarrison won the consolation final for nine points with a 351.00-point effort. Meanwhile, South Carolina's Lyndsey Havens took 11th overall and third in the consolation round with 330.90 points.

The top eight divers: Houston's Nastia Podziakova, Miami's Jenna Dreyer, Indiana's Christina Loukas, Kentucky's Taryn Ignacio, Texas' Kathryn Kelly, Stanford's Cassidy Krug, Purdue's Amanda Miller and UCLA's Marisa Samaniego will battle for the one-meter NCAA crown tonight.
